Monitor(s) not working with mobo, only with gpu.

My monitor gets no signal unless I plug it into my gpu, but I only have 1 hdmi slot on it. It makes it a pain to have dual monitors or even tri-monitors because I have to plug it into vga on my gpu. I have 1 dvi, 1 vga, and 1 hdmi on my motherboard. I also have the same for my gpu (1 dvi 1 vga 1 hdmi). The dvi doesn't work for my monitor on either. Help? Sorry if this is unclear, I can always explain it more if need be.

I recently built a computer (that I'm now having problems with) one thing I ran into is that while a GPU is installed, my bios was set to route all display informstion to outout from anything in the PCI ex slot. I would try to making sure your mobo works without the GPU installed. I don't know if you can run more than one monitor they are plugged in from different places.
