Monitor screen squashed /skewed

Hi, I do not know how it happened. I was doing a norton antivirus scan and let my PC on during the night and when turn the screen on in the morning the screen has kind of shrink into kind of 4;3 ratio, but the screen is skewed or squashed. I have duo monitor, the secondary seems be fine. I really need help thanks.

As u can see in the picture below has those black bars on the side, the screen resolution is the to the highest. The monitor is LG W2453V. I really need help thanks

BTW dont worry about the white stuff that is on the picture, thats the light reflection since i took a photo.

Have you tried using the monitors "auto adjust" feature?

Is there a button on your monitor that changes the aspect ratio? the option be might hidden within a menu also, I'd try playing around with that first.

Thousand thanks guys, after play around with the settings, found a factory reset option, did that and it went back to normal.

Windows 7 forum guys told me to buy a new monitor that was a great way to help someone, but you guys ROCK!!!

Hey Guys - strange as it sounds, changing the monitor's refresh rate from default 59hz to a higher refresh rate fixed this issue for me.
