Monitor shows no signal on new GPU

Hi, I’m a 14 year old tech noobie that recently decided to start pc gaming. I added a gtx 1050 LP into my old PC, and all seemed well until I turned the monitor on. It showed no signal, although my 1050’s fans were running so I assume it’s working.
Please help!

Additional notes:
Motherboard: ASUS P8B75-M LX
PSU: ATX-500CB 500W
RAM: 8GB DDR3
CPU: Intel i3-3220
- Using an HDMI cable to attempt connection
- The keyboard nor mouse seems to be displaying any signs of being on too, which I found strange.
- Using a JVC TV, unsure of the model number but on previous computers has worked fine.

I’m willing to try to answer any questions to the best of my ability.

Thanks everyone in advance!

I would first check that all of the power connections are secure. Then make sure that the monitor cable is connected to the new graphics card. Also the graphics card driver must be updated.

You can connect the monitor to the motherboard. then change the graphics source in the BIOS to integrated. Then install the graphics card. Download and install the GTX 1050 graphics driver from geforce.com website (don't use the windows driver). When the driver is downloaded, unzip the file and select custom install with a clean installation.

I’ve tried connecting to the motherboard graphics but that didn’t work. So I switched monitors, that didn’t work either. I used a VGA cable on both, that didn’t work too! They all showed no signal. Is something wrong with my computer?

Hey guys, I am working on a buddy’s PC which is having the same problems and this has been really helpful to me but I am still having issues. How would I change the BIOS setting for the graphics source to integrated?

The issue is that even when I disable the driver for the built-in video card and boot it up with the new gpu in the system, the screen shows nothing. The same thing happened to him after I had installed it and the only time the screen receives input is when the video card has been completely removed from the system.

I’ve also tried installing the driver for the correct video card on the nvidia website but that doesn’t work either because the program won’t run unless the video card is in the computer and when it is, the monitor receives no input.

(and I have made sure the monitor’s input was correct and tried to plug in the HDMI cable to the motherboard but no luck when the gpu is installed)

PLEASE help!! I need to get this done by Friday!! Thanks guys.
