this happens every day at least one, i had faulty hard drive, then i replace it with brand new one, what happens is the monitor shuts down, the keyboard does not get responsive , and pressing caps lock does not light the caps lock led.

pressing shutdown button does not help either, i can hear all the components running including the new HDD.

I installed fresh windows 7 on it, the only way to clear this is keeping pressing the shutdown case button, then restart which i reckon is unsafe, what is causing this :

HDD --> i dont think so, i thought this was causing the previous issue thats why i got it replaced with brand new one and it still happens.

RAM --> Ran memtester x86+ for 7 hours no problem, no errors.

Please note i live in shiitty county where prices of heat equipments for the room skyrockets in winter, so my room is cold, like ambient temperature is 0-10C ... really watching porn now is not optional

I have MSI a75a-g35 reset the BIOS to standard stuff, nothing special, i had previously overclocked the RAM to 1600 manually but it was certified for that.

can any one shed a light on this please.

Does this happen while you are using it or when it is just sitting at idle? What are the sleep settings set at? Check the power settings for sleep, hybrid sleep and all those just in case. If it happens during idle times it might be failing to wake from sleep. Turn them off

hey sutek,

first of all lets start with --> RIP English

sorry for broken English, i cant help it really.

I noticed this happens more when the computer idles, and not when i currently using it, in my previous BIOS i had c6 enabled, i like power saving so i enable it.

the sleep settings are set to Balanced Power turn display never and put computer to sleep never, and shutdown HDD after 20 mins (however there is only one HDD in my system so it rarely sleeps), also hibernation is disabled.

Good idea, i will check the sleep stuff and disable more power saving, its really weird issue, however today it didnt happen so fingers crossed what i did previously is change the HDD sata cable and sata port and reset the BIOS to defaults.

Thanks for your answer, will try.

I am not sure I completely understand your problem, but I had a similar sounding issue. When my PC would go to sleep, it would wake but displayed nothing to the monitor, I had to manually power off and restart to get it to work. I think either a Windows update or a BIOS update fixed it, give those a shot.
