Question monitor smells burnt and lost brightness

so basically I've had this monitor for 7-8 years (benq 144hz), last few days i've noticed that it was hotter than usual and now suddenly it started to smell burnt and lost like 60% of its brightness
so the monitor is dead no, maybe the burnt piece can be replaceable or its just too old at this point?

A new monitor is both better and less expensive than trying to "fix" this 8 year old thing.

well yeah i'll buy a new one i guess, time to upgrade to 240hz
