I was playing a game (The Sims 3) on my computer.
Suddenly, I heard a small spark noise that came from inside the monitor. The screen turned off completely but the power indicator light on the monitor was still on. After shutting down the main outlet, a tiny smoke came out from the back of the monitor's vent.
The following day, I plugged in an old spare monitor to check. The computer turned on and worked perfectly. It's just the monitor that's busted.

I have no clue what might have went wrong. My computer beats the game's requirements. I also haven't used the computer for a week.

System : Intel Core i5-4440 (3.1GHz)
8GB of RAM
MSI nVidia GTX750 Ti (2GDDR5)
250GB hard drive (88GB free at the moment)

The monitor was a Samsung EX1920.

Any idea what might have caused such an incident?
Thanks in advance.

Well, this monitor has been around for a long time so it might be it's age?
I don't normally clean the insides of the monitor too. Just the outside.

Could it be it's age or dust?
