Monitor stays in sleep mode

My monitor will stay in sleep mode when I press a key on my keyboard to wake it up. I have to turn the monitor off and turn it back on for it to get out sleep mode. Not a big problem but kind of annoying. Any help is appreciated. This is my monitor: ASUS VS247H-P 23.6" Full HD 1920x1080 2ms HDMI DVI-D VGA Back-lit LED

If you are using HDMI cable this could be your problem. Try these solutions:

1. Install the latest drivers for your monitor, should find them on manufacturer's website.

2. If driver did not fix it, try switching to DVI-D instead of HDMI.

Check in Device Manager if the keyboard is set to wake the computer and obviously monitor included.

Start > right click Computer > Manage > Device Manager > Keyboard properties > Power Management > Allow this device to wake the computer... You might also want to check the mouse for the same setting.
