Hi there! I have just built a new pc for the first time. i downloaded windows 10 os from a usb and everything was running fine. Except my screen resolution was stuck at 800x600. Since my dvi-d cable is connected to my asus gtx 960 4gb turbo edition, I assumed that the reason why the resolution was stuck at 800x600 was because the graphics driver was not updated. (keep in mind i have no ethernet cable connected to my new pc, so no internet access) so I got my usb and downloaded the nvidia gtx 960 graphics driver (from my laptop) onto it and transfered it to my pc to donwload there. While donwloading/updating the graphics driver, the screen on my monitor turned dark then reappeared with this (no dvi-d cable) detected or something. After waiting for 10 minutes or so no changes. So I force stopped my pc and rebooted. Now here, my monitor shows the gigabyte logo and stuff, but as it loads into the os (the circly loading icon on the bottom of the screen) it goes dark then shows the (No dvi-d cable) detected as it floats casually in my monitor screen.
Please Help me I am scared and desperate.
Is my GPU broken? Or is it that graphics driver installation the thing that messed everything up?
From PC Newbie 🙁
