I have a peculiar problem. I bought a Asus Wireless-N PCI-E Adapter, but when I plug it into the motherboard my monitor stops working (no signal). If I take the adapter out the monitor starts working again.

Any idea what could be the problem?

I have only one available. But I have been able to use another PCI Adapter on that slot which worked fine.

I think so, but how do I know this?

Yes, I do.

ASRock Z68M ITX mITX

How do I do this? I'm not very comfortable in the BIOS.

Yes that's the one.

I have already replaced the product ones, so it shouldn't be a faulty product. The port works fine. It worked with a TP-link PCI Express Adapter before (which couldn't hold a stable connection to the router, but the monitor worked).

I could try that.

I see the problem.

If I'm right, you installed the PCI-E NIC Card in the only PCI-E that you have in that board, but the problems is: That PCI-E Slot is only for graphic cards, not for NIC card like yours. That's the reason of your problem, because when the rig start, read the PCI-E slot as "used" and try to use it as video output...

For install that PCI-E NIC you need a PCI-E x1 and the one that you have is PCI-E x16.

Unfortunately the MB has no PCI x1 slot to plug the NIC. And I don't know what to advice you right now. But plugging it into PCI-E x16 slot may not work.

Interesting. But the x16 slot is the only one I have available. What can I do?

Earlier I plugged in a TP-link N900 Wireless Dual Band PCI Express Adapter (http://www.tp-link.com/en/products/details/?model=TL-WDN4800) into the slot and it worked. Can you understand why that one worked but not the one I have now?
