Monitor Suddenly Lost Signal After Starting Up a Game, Will Not Regain Signal

Hi.
I've had my PC and monitor for about two years without any problems. I mainly use my PC for gaming, but when I attempted to run Skyrim my monitor just completely lost signal.
I tried to reconnect it, and eventually restarted my computer only to find that it still could not connect.
I also tried checking my cords but to no avail either.
If anyone has a solution please post it, thanks.

The first thing I would try is to re-seat the RAM and graphics card.
