Hi,

Yesterday, when I turned my PC on, my LG Flatron monitor didn't display my PC, and instead just displayed a message saying: "DVI Power Saving Mode". I tried a different DVI cable, completely turning off all power, but nothing worked, it was working fine until then. HDMI still worked fine with my PS4 and it displayed like usual, however HDMI didn't work when I tried connecting it to my PC (never tried that before, though).

So I decided to take my gpu out (nvidia gtx 770) and plug it back into mobo again. I then plugged my PC and monitor back in and everything worked again, and continued to do so throughout the day (I didn't ever turn my PC off again, though).

So the next morning (today) I turn my PC on and the issue crops up again, DVI doesn't display my PC. It is detecting a signal, though, as without anything being plugged in the "Power Saving" message doesn't appear, instead it just says "NO SIGNAL".

One thing I did notice is that when I turned my PC on this morning, it ran for about 5 seconds and then powered off for 5 seconds, before turning on again and remaining powered on. I seem to remember this happening before, but without any other issues. I don't know if this indicates an issue with my PSU (OCZ StealthXtreme 600W), but it's odd that reconnecting my gpu worked yesterday, I have yet to try reconnecting it again.

Can anyone think of any likely causes? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot.

A little update:

I disconnected everything and reconnected my gpu again (literally all I did was re-insert it into the PCIe slot). That didn't do anything, then I remembered that when I reconnected the gpu yesterday, I also reconnected the gpu and cpu power connecters. So I went back and did that as well, and it worked again.

I'll try some selective power reconnects later to try and check which specific cable needs reconnecting for it to work again. In the meantime I'll just enjoy having my PC up and running; I'm scared to restart/shut down unless I really have to.
