Monitor to LG Tv HDMI connections

I connected my HP2311x to my LG tv using a HDMI cord I continue to get no connection on my tv please help

The TV has to be connected directly to the computer. The HDMI connection on the HP2311x is a HDMI input, NOT a HDMI output.

I use a DVI or VGA cable for my monitor along with a HDMI cable for my TV for dual screen.
