Hi i just recently bought a new graphics card and as i was playing the screen switched off while the pc was still running and didn't switch back on again till restarting the pc.

Now my question is
I know my psu is way below the power requirement for the gpu
And would like to know if that could be the case why the monitor switches off?

The gpu is a sapphire pulse rx 550 4gb which requires a 400w psu

I currently have a 250w psu in my pc, I'd just like to know if this could be the cause or should i return my gpu for a new one?

Thanx O.Shadowz

Solution
it's not that your monitor turned off, it's your graphic card shutting down because it doesn't have enough power from the PSU, so then no signal transmitted to your monitor.
get bigger PSU. 250w PSU doesn't even produce full 250w, in reality every PSU produce only about 80% of their marketed wattage, and that's on good brand.
