When i play games like League of Legends, Cod MW 3, Far Cry 3, GTA San Andreas Multiplayer etc..., my monitor turns off and it behaves like the pc is off, but the pc is running and the music from the games bugs out, and i assume that the game freezes. This happens after a few minutes (depends on which game) and i need to double restart the PC or turn off the electricity and on again so i can get something on the monitor. But when i play Counter Strike 1.6 nothing happens i play for hours...
I cleaned the dust inside the pc and it was good only for a few hours
I lowered the resolution and quality
PC Specs
-CPU---Intel Pentium Dual CPU E2180 2 ghz
-GPU---Nvidia GeForce 9500 GT 1 GB (i use a DVI to VGA Conveter)
-RAM---2 GB DDR2
I use a VGA cable and a converter (DVI to VGA)

Solution
The fact that it does nothing on 1.6 tells me the card can't handle the games your playing becides 1.6. Try turning down the settings in those games to the lowest and see if it occurs. I would really recommend upgrading your graphics card. That video card is ancient. THe gtx 960 or a 750ti are great values for the money.

It could also simply be a bad monitor, if you have a spare try using that, but honestly it sounds like the video card is going, and is over taxed.

I don't think you need a new PC, just a new card, like the cheap but powerful GTX 750ti.

Please dont forget to choose a "best answer" :)
