Monitor turns on/off constantly when booting PC up

Not only that but after waking up the PC from sleep mode it does the same. Once I do fix it (literally doing random stuff like unplugging and plugging it until it works) it works perfectly fine until I put it into sleep mode or shut it off again. I don't want to leave my computer on 24/7 because I'm too lazy to deal with the problem every time I boot it up.

1) Try re-seating the graphics card (ie remove - - clean slot with air-blower only - - then firmly reinstall it).

If no change:

2) Try new cables (monitor to mains-socket cable & monitor to PC cable).

Which hardware are you using? Especially power supply brand and model.

Did you try another monitor/TV and video cable?
