Question Monitor upgrade options ?

Hi all,

I am looking at getting another monitor. I currently use a 1440p msi optix, which is a VA panel at 32".

I am looking at getting a Samsung odyssey neo G7 or G8 which I believe is 4K (is G8 worth the extra cost?)

Or getting a 1440p OLED.

What would be a better upgrade in this instance? I will be getting 32/34"

I have a 5800x and a 7900xtx nitro+ and mostly play games like halo, timberborn, farthest frontier so I am hoping that even at 4K I would get reasonable performance? Or I could just drop back to 1440p if it's not enough FPS I.E in halo infinite

I've just switched to an MSI Optix 27 1440p, and I love it.

The G8 is nice, but I'm loath to recommend VA panels. Yes, the contrasts are better and the brightness too, I think. But the ghosting I've experienced on them have turned me off.

I like the ROG Swift there too.

If you have space the smaller LG OLEDs really can't be beat for the price. There's a guy on my local Craigslist selling the LG ultragear 48" for $850, and I'd take that over a $1000 IPS or VA panel any day. There are good deals out there on the TVs if you don't need DisplayPort, too. The 42" C3 is $1000 at Best Buy right now. Open Box Excellent is $870.
