Question Monitor upgrade question

So I'm planning on upgrading from an ultra wide 1080p to a 1440p display.

Will I have any initial display problems given that my pc is currently set at an ultrawide resolution of 2560*1080 and the monitor im plugging into is 1440p? Or can I just plug the new monitor in and everything will display fine?

Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS information.

Include PSU: make, model, wattage, age, condition (original to build, new, refurbished, used)?

What GPU and/or iGPU is being used? Connectivity: VGA, HDMI, DP?

The key is to determine and verify that the graphics card can be configured for 1440p etc.

Match what the graphics card can provide to what new monitor accepts/supports.

Do you have access to the current GPU's Control Panel? The Control Panel should provide some listing of output specs.

Verify via User Guides/Manuals.

Check GPU drivers and, if applicable the monitor drivers as well.
