monitor used bandwith

Hi everyone! is there a way to see how much bandwidth is used? i mean not just by the used bandwidth of the pc but the router itself. All software that i tried only shows the total bandwidth consumption of the pc but the devices connected to my router such as smartphones, laptops, psp and other electronic devices does not count resulting in inaccurate usage report.

Also, some ISP's keep a monthly chart for you. My old one, Cox Cable did.

Thank you for your solution but my router is not supported and i assume it's for linux. Sorry if i didn't mention it in the first post. My router is a prolink H5001N and my OS is windows 7 64 bit

No, it's not for Linux. dd-wrt and the others are new firmware for the router. But if your router isn't supported...

I just looked and my FiOS AcionTec router does this natively. How much traffic in and out.
