Specs:
Monitor- ASUS VH242H
CPU- AM2 970 Black
MOBO- ASUS M4A87TD EVO Mobo
GPU- HIS 6770 HD

As I am turning on my computer, my monitor will show my basic post for 2 seconds and then act as though there is no signal it is receiving from my GPU. I use DVI, but I have tried both HDMI and VGA on two different computers and a Macbook with the same results. I can actually reset the monitor by switching via the input back to eith dvi or vga, but it still only outputs whatever is going on the computer for 2 seconds, no more. I've tried hard booting, I've gone through basic power cycles and removing/cleaning the video card before I diagnosed it was the Monitor, and I've actually plugged the computer into my LG TV and saw that it operates just fine.

I tried the f8 trick at post and even changing the card to output at low resolution will not affect the monitor.

basically, I am stuck without a monitor on my rig and cannot use. I have seen that ASUS is kind of crappy when it comes to returning it. I have had it for 8 months and it seems it's already dead. any way to fix this?

Not unless you are willing to get it checked out by a computer repair shop and pay out of pocket for the repairs unless they are an authorized Asus repair shop. Otherwise, you need to ship back to Asus to have them repair it. Also, getting it repaired at an unauthorized repair shop will void your warranty.

ok. Thank you very much for the response. as I've been reading further and seeing the cap repairs and problems with inverters, I've been slowly starting to see running the warranty as the only option.

Thank you very much again.
