Question Monitor went black and shows stripes

Was watching a full screen video on YouTube, my display went slowly black and showed stripes, even source switched from Display Port to HDMI does not matter. What can be the issue? Like mentioned before i was watching a full screen video, nothing hit the screen for sure.



I am using a 1920x1080 monitor now temporary on the same system, it is for sure a fault in the monitor, i tested the Display port cable and replaced it with a HDMI cable but still it goes black with stripes.



It is a Dell P2416D which has been bought at 25 January 2016.

If the display does the same thing on another system, then the monitor has given up. If the system is the issue, the likely culprit will be the GPU, in which case the GPU is artifacting.
