Monitor went black

I was playing csgo with some friends and my monitors went black. I could still play the game and hear my weapons and my friends and talk to them but my monitors were gone. Now when I boot there is a white horizontal bar on my second monitor that bios boots to. It is a vga 4x3 and my main monitor the asus 144hrz does nothing. I tried to boot graphics to my mobo and nothing happened. It seems that windows is still running. Specs are i5 6500, gtx 970, 635 raidmax psu, msi cheapo gaming mobo, 8g kingston ram, 1tb wd blue. There are so many things it could be. Mobo, psu, gpu, cpu. Any thoughts?

The system is still starting and running normally in the back ground. So it's likely the monitor itself, the cable or the video output. It sounds like you connected the monitor to the mobo (bypassing the GPU) and that did not resolve or completely resolve the issue, so it's likely the cable or monitor.

I'm pretty sure your computer won't boot without a video card. So if your card was busted, it wouldn't work at all.

I agree with John Adamo. If your monitors just went black, it could be a problem with the cable. Either the data cable or the power cable. Are there still status lights on your monitor? Does your monitor say something like "No Connection Detected?". Or is it COMPLETELY black?
