Monitor wonˇt go above 60hz

Hi, so recently i bought a new graphics card( Sapphire RX 480 8GB ). The graphics card doesnˇt have a DVI port so i decided to buy an adapter ( Displayport to DVI-d dual link). Now when i plugged everything in my refresh rate caps only at 60hz. i cannot raise it up to 144hz althrough it should go up to 144hz. https://gyazo.com/3877549a45fcad8820669b54fd2c82b0

Have you tried to go into your CCC or whatever it's being called these days and settings your refresh rate from there?

Just to be clear you're cable is connected to the DVI port on the TV right?

Because higher than 60hz requires more bandwidth, if the adaptor is only designed for 1080p @ 60hz, that could be the problem.

It appears that your connection may be the culprit.

well the only problem with that is I need an active connector for dual link dvi to do 1440p to my monitor

ouch, well I still expect products to come out with dual-link dvi ports. maybe not immediately, but in every generation there have been variants of every card with a variety of ports. I don't expect it to change especially considering that there are more than a few in a similar situation.

My monitor only has hdmi/dual link dvi. I need the dual link dvi to get 144hz. I hope third parties give me the chance to use one of these cards.

I removed the best solution.

I am suggesting there isn't an adapter fix. Buy a card with the DVI-d connection already present. Yes, the 480 is the best value at the moment. Wait for a 3rd party to release one that fits your TV's needs.

This is not fact, just an opinion.

Are you 100% sure that the cable is a DVI-Dual link? also check that the adapter is DisplayPort v1.2 or superior. If the adapter is a DP 1.0 or 1.1 it would bottleneck the DVI-D Framerate to 60hz!!
