monitor won't boot up

i finished my pc build today and after insterting my gtx750ti that i used on my old pc, my monitor won't boot up.i turned off my pc and took out the card and the monitor boots up. but when insterting the grapics card the monitor won't work anymore it gives off no signal even when i leave it connected to the mobo.

cpu: Intel i5 4460
gpu: msi gtx750 ti
Mobo: msi h81m-e33
power supply: corsair cx600

When inserting the card, you have to connect the monitor to it, not the onboard.
