Monitor wont come out of sleep mode (Windows 8.1)

I recently got a new computer (Gamer ultra 6000) from cyber power PC and when i put my computer into sleep mode, it wakes up fine and correctly, but it wont configure with my monitor and the screen just says "no signal" i have to hit the restart button on my computer for it to come back on. Any ideas?

This is one of the common issue recently with the Windows 8.1. Update KB2955164 recommended to fix this issue. You can try insatlling the update in the link below

It says the update is not applicable on this computer?
