Monitor wont go into its native resolution?

Hi, i am having trouble with my TV thats connected to my computer, when i select its native res it turns out like the image i've attached, but any other res it doesn't have the colour distortion. Does anyone know what the cause would be? Am getting a new monitor fr Christmas and am worrying it will be the same.

its a samung smart tv, it was working for the last 3 months since i got my pc, but one night i updated windows and the next day it was like this. Would it by any chance be my gpu?
