Monitor won't hit 75 Hz

75 hz is typically for analog vga signals. And even if a monitor can use a 75hz signal, it is still only showing 60hz of it.

Setting everything to max is not always the best policy. In most cases, LCDs look a lot clearer (with much sharper text) when running at 60hz instead of 75hz.

However, this doesn't apply to 120hz 3d monitors which are running over dual link dvi. In that case, use 120hz.

oh ok guys thanks.

My monitor supports sound but i won't be needing the HDMI if they have the same quality.

Also have 5.1 Surround Sound on a Creative X-Fi Sound Card.

Thanks for the information guys.

I'm using an Acer X203H 20" wide LCD monitor. Wonderful display I ever have. Before this one, I long used Logitec 15", Eizzo 17", NEC 19", all square LCDs. All of my monitors except the last one was running at 75Hz with D-Sub/analog cable.

Above statement is not fully correct. There is a significant quality for 'eye comfy' between 60Hz & 75Hz. I'm an old timer for sitting in front of computer since 1992 & spend hours make things. So I can figure in what frequency these monitors run ;)
Since I'm using DVI, there is no 75Hz menu appears. But even at 60Hz I fell that as same as 75Hz in VGA signal.

CMIIW please.
