Monitor Won't Power On

Hi! Recently I decided to use an old monitor as my secondary monitor. I plugged it in and... nothing. It's not that it's not receiving data, it's not even powering on, I even tried a different power cable. And the strangest thing is, my computer is detecting that it is there. What are some ways I can determine the problem?

It could be that the monitor's inside has been damaged. Either that or the power button has broke?
