Question Monitor won't show boot screen, works fine when windows boots up!

Hello,

I've had this problem with my PC ever since I got this monitor. When I first startup my PC the monitor just shows "Cable not connected", this doesn't go away until the windows login screen shows up. This is the only monitor I've found that has this problem with my PC. I have used a secondary monitor and a small portable monitor which both show the BIOS screen just fine. No idea what might be causing this issue, all help would be greatly appreciated!

I've tried a lot of different things including:

• Reading numerous posts (many which were solved)
• Different HDMI cables (monitor supports either VGA or HDMI)
• Using the Motherboard HDMI slot
• Changing "Fast Boot" in BIOS (on, ultra fast, and off didn't work)
• Changing "Storage Boot Option Control" in BIOS (from legacy to UEFI then off)
• Changing "Other PCI Device ROM Priority" in BIOS (from UEFI to off)
• Probably some other things that I forgot (I've been working on this for several months)

Build:
Monitor: Acer ED242QR
GPU: Gigabyte Radeon RX 570
Motherboard: Gigabyte B450M DS3H
Storage: Samsung 970 EVO (GPT not MBR)

What CPU are you using? Anything with built-in graphics?
Make sure that integrated graphics is disabled in BIOS.
Also try resetting the monitor settings to factory set up.

If you've tried different cables, with the same result, this could just be a charastic of the monitor or it could also have a slight fault.

AMD Ryzen 5 2600, not integrated graphics.
Monitor settings have not been touched, and I just reset them which didn't work.

I don't have the solution....but I have a similar thing going on.....but I don't care too much about it because I can always get to the BIOS.

I have two systems.
Each system has two monitors.
When I boot up either system.....the BIOS and the BIOS startup screens only display on one monitor.
The other monitor does exactly what yours is doing.
...and it seems random WHICH monitor the BIOS screens decide to show up on.
