Hey guys!
Im having a problem with my monitor. Last night I tried to launch CoD Ghosts, and it crashed, so I decided to restart the computer. While booting, I went into the bios settings, and I have heard before that turning the overcloking off the graphics card will prevent CoD crashing. So in the bios settings, I went on the OC option and choose manual.. Rebooted and then the monitor would not turn on. I tried pulling the graphics card out, and put the old one in to see if it would work but nothing... Please help!!
OS-Windows 7 64 bit
Grapghics- Nvidia Geforce 650 ti boost 2 gb (Asus OC)
Processor- Amd A8 quad core

Ah, whats happened here i think is you've muddled up some settings in the bios. The bios is for configuring cpu/memory etc, has nothing to do with the gpu's overclock. For this you'll need software like Msi Afterburner.

Reset the cmos by removing the watch sized battery for 10seconds from the motherboard to reset the bios to defaults. Any changes you made prior not booting will be reset also.

Theres an option in Msi afterburner to force constant power and also to use kernel mode (default is user) and can help.

There will be only one on your motherboard. find it and remove for 10seconds, then put back. The battery keeps records of date/time and also settings made to the bios. Removing this battery will wipe any changes made, returning the motherboard to the same state when you bought it.

make sure the memory is inserted properly and check anything else you may have tried to troubleshoot with is back to the way it was.

Usually will reboot if memory is unstable, it'll more likely reboot with windows giving a "did not load properly" and give you an option to choose safe mode. Did this happen at all?

Press f8 just after post (before windows begins to load) or even spam the key to bring up safe mode. Use the arrow key on the keyboard to select safe mode. See if it boots.

If this computer was store bought, will need to find out if they had adjusted something in the bios. Motherboards do and should operate with standard defaults unless components such as memory is need a little tweaking in terms of voltage to have them running properly.

See if AMD Memory Profile or (AMP) is enabled in the bios. If its disabled try enabling it so it tunes the memory.

Thanks! I will try these, and the motherboards is an asrock fm255-dgs and the computer is a custom... No i didnt get anything like 'did not load'or anything like that... But after I started to launch it, and the 'starting windows'came up, it just took me to this black screen and I had 2 options. "Start windows normally'or 'start windows starup wizard'or something like that..

oh yea thats normal for any windows operating system. The operating system detected it was not shut down properly, and will give you those options in the black screen with a timer of so many seconds before it restarts itself.

No harm done usually, choosing to starting windows normally will work most of the time.
