Monitor won't work when connected to the motherboard

I have used one monitor plugged directly into my graphics card for a while now, however, I recently got a second monitor and when I plug it into the motherboard (due to lack of space in my graphics card) the computer will not detect it. Even though it is plugged in correctly and on the right input it says there is no signal. Why won't my monitors work when plugged into the motherboard?

You have to switch from pcie to integrated graphics using bios.

Both monitors have to be plugged in to the motherboard or graphics card - not one in each. I suggest you plug both monitors into the graphics card.

You do NOT have to have both plugged into the GPU OR motherboard. This is a myth from when integrated GPUs were part of the motherboard not the CPU, and has not been true for years. Modern Intel CPUs and AMD APUs support using both and using the integrated for a second monitor is a good solution.

Inserting a dedicated GPU still automatically disables the integrated GPU. You have to go into the BIOS and re-enable it. For AMD this is known as surround view. For Intel you would set it to always enable. Read your manual

Thank you soo much!! Now they work! But one question, when i did it it asked for something with sharing graphics.... Im not sure so i left it at 64... What was that? Also, i have a Radeon R9 270 and it has 2 dvi, 2 hdmi... Could i use all the graphics card ports plus the motherboard to make 7 (I probably won't but just a crazy idea) ? Or even just two from the graphics card and two from the motherboard, could i do that?
