Monitor wont work

I've just finished my long awaited first ever build. I got it to turn on with everything working first try so it seemed. I plugged it in to my monitor now and the screen goes from a picture of the dell logo and 4 colors to a blank screen. I've researched it quite a bit already and I cant figure out the problem. I have no idea whats going. I've been messing with the hard drive thinking the jumper was the problem but no luck so far. Any help is appreciated.

So you were able to boot into windows prior to this issue and it happened just all of a sudden? Try booting into safe mode (spam f8 at boot)

After just a few more minutes of searching, I came across pictures of all the different kinds of dvi cables. It seems my gpu uses dvi-d dual link and the cord im trying to use a dvi-d single link. Seems like a simple fix and will have to pick one up tomorrow. Hope this helps others if youre as silly as me 😛
