Should I use HDMI or Thunderbolt 3 when connecting the monitor to motherboard? The monitor has both ports. Which one has better display quality?
The added bandwidth doesn't matter unless the monitor needs more bandwidth than the HDMI port can supply. For example you have an HDMI 1.4 port and use a 4k 60Hz monitor. The HDMI port can only run the monitor at 30Hz.But doesn't thunderbolt 3 have more bandwidth than hdmi, wouldn't that provide better quality

Thankyou for replying. How do I choose a compatible HDMI cable that supports 4K or the extra bandwidth? The added bandwidth doesn't matter unless the monitor needs more bandwidth than the HDMI port can supply.
