Hey guys, so I recently ordered a GTX 970 to find my motherboard was so old I couldn't use them together. No biggy, I went and ordered a compatible Motherboard. And a new Cooler as my previous one was an intel stock one. Installation went fine, and my current temps on my i7 3770k is 27-32 idle across the 4 cores. Haven't hit above 57 while playing any games, pretty solid. It's SUPER loud though, it's a small case. While it may be the Evga Gtx 970 as there's lots of comments saying they're pretty loud, I downloaded SpeedFan and it's saying my two fans are both around 6500 rpm at all times.. Should I be concerned at all? Screencap of the SpeedFan.

I'd appreciate any help or input! Thanks all.

The hyper t2 runs @ 2800prm, no wonder its super loud.

Use speedfan or your motherboard's fan control to slow down the cpu fan.

Use evga precision X or MSI afterburner to control your gpu fan speed.
Keep it fixed @ 50%.

Hey bartholomew, so I read through the Speedfan link, and I wasn't seeing the option to change the values on mine. I went ahead and went into my Bios, I set the Smart control to 40c, the Cpu fan to 50%, and the system 1 fan to 50% also, just to see the noise difference or temp differences. While I was in the bios, it was saying I was getting rpm's of 1800-2300. Saved it and rebooted, open up speedfan just to double check and it's still saying fan 1 and 2 are around 6500.

What I mean by not seeing the option in Speedfan, he says he links the speeds to his temp1, yet when I click the plus mark to drop down nothing happens.

Do you know of another program I can check my RPM's with? I don't understand how if I set the speeds in the bios, SpeedFan is still picking up 6500+ on both.

Edit : My gpu fans are completely fine, 1400'ish while no load, and even under gaming it doesn't raise that much.

Yea SpeedFan is wrong, I downloaded Hwmonitor a lil bit ago and it's picking up normal rpm's on case fan, and cpu fan. I downloaded hwinfo also and picked up 1500'ish on the chassis fan and cpu, so it looks good! Still loud, but I'll live with it. Was more concerned I was stressing the fans and they'd give out. Thanks for the help bud, have a good day.
