Question Monitors are making some odd sounds

I recently got two old style CRT monitors, a Dell and a Tangent, and they make some concerning sounds. the Dell makes a loud buzzing sound when I turn it on, and the Tangent makes popping noises every 5-10 seconds or so. Its been a while since I've actually had or used these types of monitors, were they always this noisy?
