Monitors go black and my computer stays on. I have to reset computer

I will be playing a game and the computer screens will shut off and go black. The computer will stay on and i click thinking it's in sleep mode, but it does not come back on unless I restart it.

How is your computer connected? HDMI or display port? I get a similar problem sometimes when I leave Netflix on in fullscreeen. My solution is just to disconnect and reconnect the HDMI cable.

Could be that your computer is going into hibernate mode. Some video drivers don't like that and will not re-initiate and wake up the monitor(s).
