[SOLVED] monitors running at 120hz but not showing a diference after 60hz

my monitor is running at 120hz but, when i run https://www.testufo.com/ i see no diference after 60hz. is this typical? if not any ideas?

It'll be the browser.

Better test is just grab a small window and drag it around and in circles with your mouse. 120Hz should appear much more smoother than 60Hz.

hey i appreciate the response, i used Firefox as the browser, i also just tried the moving a small window in circles, but it seems like i just dont see any difference. i should say im using hdmi 1.4. i was just looking through the internet and came across this article (https://www.gamersnexus.net/guides/2113-hdmi-interface-questions-addressed-1080p-120hz) about 120hz through hdmi 1.4, and it said:

"1080p at 120Hz, then, would fit within even HDMI 1.4b's 340MHz pixel clock (1920 * 1080 = 2.07 million * 120 = 248 million pixels per second). There's more to it than that, though, and HDMI 1.4b simultaneously supports and does not support 1920x1080 at 120Hz. It supports the 120Hz 1080p throughput only for 3D processing, which it does by cloning the data packet for concurrent output to the display device. For 2D viewing – which is what almost all gamers mean when they want “120Hz” – HDMI 1.4b is stuck at just 60Hz for 1080p. This is commonly misunderstood in the HDMI 1.4b spec language."

so, would 3d processing be considered games? or am i just out of luck for 1.4 hdmi?

hey thanks alot for that link, it was very educational. well, its actually a sharp tv that i can over clock to 120hz, that has nothing but hdmi 1.4s on it, so most likely im looking at these 1.4s not being able to support more then 60hz. i was really hopping to be able to take advantage of the over clock. unless im lucky enough for you to have any ideas for me?

Which sharp tv, specifically? Most all tv’s are 60hz with motion smoothing and/or backlight strobing to fake 120 or 240hz.

Essentially no TVs have actual 120 hz input/display, sorry.
