Question Monitor's settings (like brightness, contrast) keep resetting to default every half hour

I'm experiencing a problem where one of my two monitors' settings keep resetting to the default every ~30 minutes or so. The default settings are too bright and I have to keep adjusting them down. The monitor in question is a pretty old model (SyncMaster T220HD) and the reason I'm using it is because my other monitor stopped working recently, so I pulled this one out of storage to use. After doing a bit of searching around, it seems that the cause may be because of "incompatible or outdated graphics drivers and the Base video option". I'm not sure how to go about fixing this issue. Will this monitor simply not work with my current graphics card meaning I'd have to get a new monitor?
