So basically what the title says, but my monitors wont shut off, I have tried a third party app, and setting the system to "sleep" monitors after 1 min, but still nothing.... this is kind of important to me as I dont want to burn my screens, and the power button doesn't work on one (to lazy to fix). Any ideas on how I can see whats keeping the system "awake" so they stay turned off?

I'm not talking putting the computer to sleep either just monitors I want them off when programs or nothing is running at all.

This actually helps explain the issue - there is something on the system that is "running" that is keeping the screens from sleeping - no matter whether you personally aren't typing or moving the mouse. Most of the time it's 3rd party programs or drivers and want to "keep awake - just in case you want to quickly use it" type programming.

Trial and error - try each device or program at a time to see which one it is. This has been an issue since Win...
I had the same problem. After installing windows 10 both screensaver and screen sleep mode did not work. After some trail and error, i found out that if i unpluged my Thrustmaster Warthog joystick and throttle from usb, my screen could go to sleep again.

Hope this helps
