Though I applaud your efforts, I wouldn't go around mentioning this to
everybody you meet. Lucas Arts will sue your arse off... :-S

Dreaded Kane coughed up:
> What's so funny? It's just a fan game. Get over yourself.

Wasn't meaning to offend, but have never come across anything like that
before.

Show me more, and I may be impressed...

It was that way you said it that was funny. Also because I know what
LucasArts would do if they ever heard about this.

I'm not making any money off of this why would LucasArts care?

Because they're bastards. Still, I've seen quite a few fangames go
unprosecuted so maybe you'll get lucky.
Looks good, by the way. Are you using any particular adventuregame
authoring thing, or just your own mad coding skillz?

Ones which claim to be Monkey Island 5? I've never seen a fangame claiming
to be the next game in the series before.

There is one out there which is where I got the idea.
I'm gonna use adventure game studio because I know very little about coding.
Hmmm do you think I'd get away with making Flight of the Amazon Queen part 2
then? Seeing as the company has since gone under... Or maybe a sierra sequel
for the same reason...

I am not entirely sure, but since they offer the game (Flight of the
Amazon Queen) for free on scummVM.org, that seems a saver bet.

He could change the name to Donkey Island! And Guybrush could be

Sure I'll take all suggestions into consideration!
I had thought of changing the names like ervaqre suggested and calling it
'Primate Oasis' or something similar just don't know whether lucas arts
would still sue or not. Maybe I'll just play games made by private companies
who create for the love of it rather than corporate mega monsters...
Long live ID software!

Well, I guess as long as you do not use copyright protected names it
should be all right, even though to the player it will be obvious that it
is actually Monkey Island.

Good luck with it and keep us updated of any progress!

Well hey, if you liked the games Lucasarts used to produce, but hate the
massive law-monster it has become, why not check out a couple of the
companies created by ex-lucasarts employees!

First off there's Double Fine (http://www.doublefine.com) created by
gaming mastermind Tim Schafer! He's the guy behind classics such as Full
Throttle, Grim Fandango and Day of the Tentacle. They're currently
making the Excellent Game Psychonauts, which looks like it may just be
the greatest game ever. Be sure to check out the Double Fine Action News
and Comics for a glimpse into the minds of the brilliant people who are
making this great game.

Then there's Telltale Games (http://www.telltalegames.com/) who have
just released an awesome little character-driven poker game, Telltale
Texas Hold'em and are now working on a graphic adventure game based on
the Bone comicbook series.

I believe today's entry of the news was about bold dentists and
dandruff...
If it gives a glimpse.. it's surely is a disturbing one...
