.mono folder in roaming

So today I downloaded the Mc technic launcher and when it didn't launch properly I checked my roaming folder and saw that there was a .mono folder with an empty folder inside it. I googled .mono folder and got 1 result from 2012 saying if I couldnt update the launcher or download it and there was a .mono folder in my roaming to delete it and I could update/download Mc updates / technic launcher.

My question is : is this .mono folder a virus?

A folder can't be a virus -- viruses can only reside inside a file.

What I meant was would the .mono file be a result of a virus? The .mono folder was never there before and I didn't put it there.

I think it's a rootkit, it's possible that it comes from your mc technic but i'm not sure, dont wory about it, if you follow the next steps
your computer is >80% cleaned up of that anoying virusses (BUT READ FIRST THE "NOTE")
-install avast (if you have it already...ok )
-do "windows button" + r
-fill in the field "msconfig"
-go to startup
-check of there is some strange app (you can search on the web if it is a virus or not) VERY IMPORTANT STEP
-deactivate the "virusses"
-reboot your system with a startupscan of avast
-if you comes in to a blackscreen with some text like avast(just like you did a hard shutdown)
-select something with "delete all virusses"
-it spends a lot of tim if your computer is infected with many virusses but dont wory about it
just watch something on tv (just do something useful then staring at a window) 😀
-and normaly if anything is ok your computer is >80% virus clean
NOTE: if you aren't sure of your avast DO NOT REBOOT IT with avast an pls check first of a "virus" is a virus because your computer can get a fatal failure if you disabled an app that was just a normal "windows app"
