[SOLVED] Monthly Scans for Malware/Viruses

Hello All

Wondering something online friend in a game mentioned to me it's not good to scan your system every month for any malware or viruses, that somehow it's bad for Solid State Drives? Is this true or false? Plus same person in online game also says i shouldn't be running Windows Defender for my protection and should reinstall Avast Free.

I haven't reinstalled Avast yet, or anything

No it's not true , I run mine on active protection AVAST ULTIMATE and it scans every other day. Avast FREE , is decent. So are Kaspersky and Bitdefender FREE.

Thank you for the quick reply in this matter, so appreciate it , Question answered quickly !, Yeah used Avast Free mostly steady from 2006, this year decided to try Windows Defender a bit, but may reinstall Avast Free at some point, not 100 percent sure yet on that aspect lol.
