I suggest asking Acronis on this.I have an acronis .tib backup from my wife's that contains important info that I cannot extract as Com Surrogate seems to have locked it so I cannot extract the info. How the h do I make it accessable by Acronis or whatever opens it to read it?
As a workaround, use the bootable Acronis TrueImage bootable CD/USB to go into the recovery environment. You'll no longer be in the Windows environment so Com Surrogate won't be an issue.............How the h do I make it accessable by Acronis .......................
Thanks for the help guys. I am not looking to restore the whole backup; I simply want to extract some emails. Com S is disabled on my PC but the blasted lock remains. The tib files is copied to my desktop from the backup ssd attached to my wife's computer. Acronis won't open it either nor will any of my anti-lock progs work. I've been a windows user since the 1980's and never come across CS before though I've read that MS have pushed the damn thing with updates. I have uninstalled CS to no effect. I'm at an age where hitting the clouds is doubly painful. Time someone wrote an app to unlock CS bondage. I'll try Acronis boot tomorrow. As a workaround, use the bootable Acronis TrueImage bootable CD/USB to go into the recovery environment. You can restore individual files and folders in the recovery mode I suggested.I am not looking to restore the whole backup;...................
