More Newbie Qs, DF2, Win2k and Cheats.

Hi Again:

I've taken Keven's advice and I've been playing CTF,
mostly "Raw Meat" on Novaworld's opening page.

While I've gone through some battles without incident,
DF2 often dumps me to the desktop after minutes or seconds.

My system is old, with a 3DFX card, but other sims seem
to run OK. Though this isn't the most stable system for
playing games.

Is there any particular problem running Win2K? Any
patches?

Last night, while I was playing Raw Meat, someone on my
team had collected all the flags in less than 3 minutes.
And it happened again. The next battle my teammates and I
were being stabbed by an invisible opponent. He was moving
fast too. I tried to just run toward the battle but he was
on me in no time. Today, someone was flying above our base
camp shooting down at us.

I understand there are no cheat patches and no cheat
games. How do I find these?

Sometimes I hear the distinctive sound of a SAW when
playing CTF. Is this considered a cheat, or are there
situations where the SAW is acceptable?

Some servers block SAWs, but not all.

Google on DFFAVS, and see what DeadBolt gave to the DF-World years ago :

One other tip.. Give up on playing public servers on DF2 or LW. 2 many
cheats. Go into the private servers. Most of them will block the cheats. BHD
is still mostly cheat free.. I havent see any in along time and none of
them were very good.
