In the title I am referencing the only other thread I could find that is precisely my issue, found here.

Basically, it seems like the RTX 3080 is putting traditionally acceptable power supplies through the ringer, and subsequently is regularly resulting in the 1-3 flashing LED lights on the card that are meant to indicate it is not receiving enough power.

Of course I bought a pre-built PC by ABS and all they told me was that I should send it back for a refund (this particular PC was an "open box", thinking now I know why). This is not a desirable option for me as I have already abandoned my previous computer and do enjoy this one very much.

I guess my primary question is: what is the best and/or simplest course of action if I want to make this rig work without causing significant long term damage to the system? Should I just swap the PSU for a 1000w? From reading on the previous post about this issue, it seems like wattage is not as much as an issue as the actual circuitry of the power supply (and the absurd power consumption spikes of the 3080).

Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I have a 1000w Corsair PSU, I still have the same problem.
I solved the issue for now by shutting down machine, switching PSU off and draining all power. After motherboard aura and GPU red lights turned off, I gave it a few seconds before turning my machine back on. Red flashing lights above power cables are now gone and hasn't returned.

How many power cables do you use from PSU to GPU? Heard it's best to have 3. One pcie cable per port. Maybe that would help
