All this extreme overclocking being done by Overshocked and company has got me all tweaky again. So I decided to try some of my own Air Cooled bench runs with my Q6600.
Thank you Shadow, Videl and OvrClkr, I appreciate it
I could certainly feel the GPU limiting the system. 200mhz for a handful of points. I got most of my goal by upping the GPU like 20mhz across all options. I wonder if it's about time I upgrade the sucker...
It's odd too, pretty much any FSB i try with the 9x multiplier refuses to boot. Anything 8x and this 780i just ate it up. Didn't even sneeze at 1900FSB. I'm quite impressed with it.
Mine's from EVGA, ordered it the same day NCIX got some. Came with a copy of Crysis too
I've been very pleased with the performance of this card. I'm probably goin' to wait to see how SC2 plays on it before deciding to spend money to upgrade. Although i want to do it now, lol. I will probably end up with a 2nd Gen DX11 card, we'll see.
Nice overclocking by the way. Wanna put it under the ice?
I would but i don't have the money to replace anything if i kill it. Plus i've just finished repairing it, poor thing was inactive a total of 1.5 months. Stupid piece of crap Silverstone PSU.
On that note i've had my fill of tinkering for a bit. Thanks for the inspiration I will definitely post some pics when i eventually get a new GPU.
Wow man thats a real good result. If you had a bit faster video card you would be doing 20K+, but good job man. 😉
Thanks
Yeah, i've been tempted by the GTX275 more then once. NCIX.com has been putting them on sale frequently, and i've almost bought it a couple times, lol. I just have to keep reminding myself i don't need it, all my games run smooth on max or near max settings.
If i wasn't buying a new MTB Frame soon I probably would have upgraded my PC already But i can't take riding a hardtail frame anymore, my joints hurt...lol. I've had the same one for over 5 years, a Oryx DD 66. Looking to get a new full suspension, particularly a Banshee Scream V2 if that means anything to anyone on here
The Step-Up program is only applicable until you've had your card 3 months. Unless they've changed it recently. I've had my card over 2 years, i doubt i'd be able to...although it would be cool.
