A PC with following specs ...

Processor : core i7 3770
Mobo : asus p8z77-v
Gpu : His 7970 IceQX 3gb
Chassis : Corsair 600t
HDD : Seagate 1tb
SSD: Corsair 240gb

No overclocking is done or will be done. Use is gaming and sometimes recreational 3d model designing.

RAM is 8gb. PSU option is either Corsair 1050W or Corsair 1200W.

I have two options :

1. Get 16gb RAM and get Corsair 1050W PSU.

2. Get a 1200W PSU and RAm stays at Corsair 8gb

What would you guys recommend ? Thanks for answers.

P.s Ram is Corsair Dominator Platinum 1600 Mhz.

I had Cooler Master 600W but it short circuited or something.

So i have to change it anyways. Thought Corsair would be a better option.

As Brett said, get a quality 500-600 watts PSU (Seasonic,Corsair,Antec) and buy the RAM.

You won't need 1000 watts to run a single GPU (Unless you're planning to do a crossfire in the future)

I am sorry. I never meant to make the impression that i was trying to justify or impose my choice on your guys. That was never my intention.

Let me ask this question from another angle. If you had 200 dollars to spend and you had to change your PSU, with the current system i have, what would you buy and what would you chose. Saving not being an option.

Fair question , i think.
