Hi everyone, i'm new in building computers and i have some questions on how to power a gpu with more then 8 pin :
-Can I use two different pci-e port from the psu?
-if i have a non modular psu, is there an adapter to convert 8 pin to 8 + 6 or 8 + 8?

there are only 2 types of pins for discretley powered PCIe cards
there is the 6pin and the 8( 6+2)Pin , these are requirement by a standard known as the PCI-SIG , 6 Pins would provide 75w and 6+2Pin would provide 150watts and your graphics card would pull 75w from the PCIe slot
if a graphics card has more than one 8 pin ports this means it may consume more than (150+75) 225 watts
and if a power supply doesnt have sufficient number of pcie 8 (6+2) pins then it would probably mean that its not designed to deliver more than 225w on that rail thus using adapters are a bad idea
