Morrowind on Windows 10: lower fps than Oblivion

I've searched a few forums (including this one) for answers to this problem and so far have not found one that works for me.
Basically, just upgraded to a new laptop from my old thinkpad, and... well, like the title says, it runs my modded Oblivion like a dream, but fps rates on vanilla Morrowind are unusually low. Not unplayable, but certainly unpleasant.
I have tried a few game mods that I thought might help, including the unofficial patch (1.66) and Morrowind Code Patch, to no avail. I have also tried updating the AMD software, as I've read there might be a connection. No luck. I've also read that this may just be a problem with the new OS that Microsoft will have to get on before anything can be done. If anyone here can help with this, I'd really appreciate it. Not expecting a solution, just really hoping!

Here are general specs; I'm not a wiz, so let me know if I should provide more:

HP Pavilion dv7 Entertainment Notebook
OS: Windows 10 Home
CPU: Intel Core i5
Graphics: Dedicated (games): AMD Radeon HD 6300M Series, 512 MB RAM; Normal: Intel (i5 chipset)
System RAM: 6 GB
Solid State Drive, 480 GB

Thanks!

So, I managed to fix it on my own, somehow.
Even though I had the latest AMD drivers downloaded, it seems my Catalyst Control Center wasn't allowing switchable graphics. So even when I had Morrowind.exe set to use the dedicated GPU in CCC's options, Morrowind didn't use it. Eventually reinstalled the CCC, and for some reason the option enabled itself this time.
just a note: AMD's gaming evolved app made my computer unusable (periodic freezing of the display that lasted 30 seconds at a time) to the point where I had to do a system reset. Which, incidentally, led to the reinstall of CCC.
The settings in the games are most likely to blame, you could have Oblivion set to have worse settings, for example, maybe you have shading in Morrowind on high, but you have shading in Oblivion on low, this may cause the FPS to be worse in Morrowind than Oblivion because the settings are to hard for your computer to handle. Check the settings in the game and see if that helps 😀.

This is not the case. My settings in Oblivion are turned up to quite a respectable level (most view distances are at maximum, large textures, etc.), and vanilla Morrowind really doesn't have any in-game options for maxing out your graphics. To give you some basis for comparison: My T60 Thinkpad with all-around inferior hardware to this HP Pavilion ran a MODDED Morrowind rather smoothly, on Windows 7.

Hmm, I don't know what else it could be. I'm sorry, I don't know what else you could do. The only thing would be to contact Bethesda support, but they never reply to anybody anyway, so...I don't know dude.
