My 7 year old Philips monitor has finally died, and I'm looking to get a new monitor. I'm really set on G-Sync, as I despise screen tearing and like the smooth look that Vsync gives games, but I also can't stand to play any game that requires any sort of precision with Vsync, due to the massive amount of input lag. My budget is $400 and won't be going any higher any time soon.

So, wanting a G-Sync monitor at this budget, I have two relatively attractive options: the AOC G2460PG and the Acer XB241H. Both are usually priced in the $380 to $400 range, both are 1080p, 144hz TN monitors with G-Sync. Thing is, I'm having a very hard time deciding between the two as I can't find much else to compare. There are a good amount of reviews on the G2460PG online, but I can find very few for the XB241H; most of the reviews found when looking are for the pricier monitors in the predator line. I guess my main deciding factor is image/color quality, and how good the blacks are. I know I won't get top-tier colors with a TN display, I'm just hoping for as good as TN can muster. Both monitors check all the requirements I need, so without more information deciding between the two is quite difficult.

Does anyone have any input as to why I should go with one over the other?

My GPU is a GTX 1070, which I know I'll be told is overkill for a 1080p monitor, but I like playing my games as near max as possible, and want to play them at as near 144hz as possible for some time with gsync, so this is the call I'm making.

Just out of curiosity, how does my GPU factor into which of these two monitors is a better call?

Its just good information to have if you had an older GPU would be hard to recommend them if they cant even run the games decently have you tried fast sync ( low latency) ? its in nvidia options can be enabled globally also is your old monitor 60HZ ? i am asking to make sure its what you really want as i have 144hz non gsync monitor and the tearing at such high fps for me is just not visible and those gsync monitors are just very expensive and i was reading around they are good for lower fps but not when you run at very high fps which your 1070 is certainly capable of at 1080p.

Yes, my current monitor is 60hz, but even when running at high framerates I experience issues not only with tearing, but with stuttering/not feeling smooth even when running at a solid 60fps. I'm set on the Gsync because I've heard a combination of gsync and fast sync can help with issues like these, and I've heard pretty good feedback from people using 1070s and 1080s with Gsync monitors

Have to place my order for one or the other today and I'm still completely bewildered, no idea what to do... they seem so similar, and reviews are so similar. I've heard some reports of the ACER having worse colors at high refresh rates than the AOC? But I can't be sure.

It looks like I'll be going with the ACER regardless as it's easier to find, the g2460pg is out of stock in many places. Will update and say whether or not I'm pleased with its performance
