Most appropriate RAM?

Hey,
in a nutshell im looking for a recommendation for RAM for my system, kinda worked out what range and roughly what the aspects of each RAM do but i dont want to make a mess of my first system with buying incompatible RAM.

Build so far:
Case: Antec 1200 Twelve Hundred Ultimate Gaming Case
Hard Disk: Samsung SpinPoint F3 1TB SATA-II 32MB Cache
Memory:
MotherBoard: Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD3R Intel X58 (Socket 1366) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard
PSU: Corsair TX 650W ATX SLi Compliant Power Supply
Processor: Intel Core i7 920 D0 Stepping (SLBEJ) 2.66Ghz (Nehalem) (Socket LGA1366)
OS: Windows 7
Graphics: Undecided at the moment, looking towards the 4800 series though.

not sure why there is a differance and if this would limit me to only 800-1333 MHz products and away from the top o' the range ones.


The system would be used purely for online gaming, as far as OC and SLI/Cross goes im wary as its my first build.
Would be looking to spend £100-150 on RAM

I'd search newegg.com w/ those parameters. The sight is pretty good at that. And then you can decide whats in your price range.
Just stick to name brand products

No we start considering budget....look at the "CAS Latency" grop down set .....CAS 6 is the fastest memory you can buy, but it seems to have vanished from the planet. Three weeks ago, I bought the CAS 6 Mushkin Redline w/ Ascent coolers for $200 a set, last I saw was $240 and now it's just gone.....no Redlines no CAS 6 from anyone else either.

At CAS 7, ya have 6 choices from $144 (Mushkin after rebate) to $283

For $4 over the cheapest price, I'd grab the OCZ's with the 7-7-7-24 timings over the 7-9-7-24 from Muskin.

opinions?

couldn't find the one you linked Jack, also the others on that site, within budget, are not 7-7-7-24's, only really 8's and 9's.

Looking forward to your opinion and if there is better within the price margin.
